Sony has announced the launch of its new InZone Buds, the first truly wireless gaming earbuds that offer the industry’s longest battery life, low latency, and 360 spatial sound. The InZone Buds are part of Sony’s InZone range of gaming audio products, which also includes the InZone H5 wireless headset and the InZone H9 wireless noise cancelling headset. The InZone Buds and the InZone H5 were developed in collaboration with Fnatic, one of the world’s leading esports teams.
The InZone Buds are designed to deliver an immersive gaming experience with personalized sound, unrivaled 12 hours of battery life, and less than 30ms low latency. They feature Sony’s Dynamic Driver X, which is also used in the flagship WF-1000XM5 earbuds, and which provides wide frequency reproduction and high sound quality. The InZone Buds also support 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming, which allows users to hear the direction and distance of their opponents with unmatched spatial accuracy. Users can create a personalized hearing profile by taking photos of their ears using the 360 Spatial Sound Personaliser smartphone app, and optimize the sound for their ear canal with Sound Tone Personalisation.
The InZone Buds come with a wireless USB-C dongle that enables a 2.4GHz connection with PC or PlayStation 5, ensuring a stable and lag-free gaming experience. They also support Bluetooth connectivity for other devices, such as smartphones and tablets. The InZone Buds are compatible with various gaming platforms and technologies, such as AV1 decoding, XeSS upscaling, variable rate shading, mesh shading, sampler feedback, and more. They also support voice assistants, such as Google Assistant and Siri.
The InZone Buds have a spill-resistant design that prevents any mess when refilling the ink tanks. They also have touch controls on the stems that allow users to play/pause music, answer/end calls, adjust volume, switch between sound modes, and activate voice assistants.
